Safety at Urge

Urge has worked hard in partnership with the Provincial Health Authority to help make the tattooing and piercing industry as safe as possible. We were consulted by the Provincial Government in regards to the content of the Provincial Health guidelines for the tattooing industry. Urge Studios has also introduced training for blood born pathogens and sterilization by way of Dave Vedra’s highly acclaimed company “Health Educators” from the U.S. for all health inspectors and anyone in the personal service industry.

In all possible applications Urge uses single use products such as individually packaged tattooing needles and tubes, and we only purchase products from companies that back there products.

Frequently Asked Tattoo Questions

How old do you have to be to get a tattoo?

You must be 18 years old to get a tattoo. Valid picture ID is required. No exceptions!

How much does a tattoo cost?

Our minimum charge for tattooing is $100. Our hourly rate is $160. Visit us and we can give you a quote on your tattoo.

How do I make an appointment?

Come down to the shop to book an appointment. A $60 cash deposit is required. It will be deducted from the price of your tattoo, or forfeit if you are not able to attend your appointment.

Does it hurt?

Of course! The outcome quickly overshadows the discomfort though.

How do I choose a tattoo design?

Research, research, and more research. The artists at Urge are very good at what they do, rendering your idea on your skin. They are not your research assistants. Do your homework and you will love your tattoo for life.

How do I take care of my tattoo?

You will be given detailed oral as well as written instruction upon receiving your new tattoo.

How do I prepare for my appointment?

Don’t consume alcohol the night before. Be well rested. Eat before your appointment.
