Supporting Our Community

Urge Tattoos has been a part of the Greater Victoria community for more than two decades. From our proud Armed Forces and Motorcycle Enthusiasts, to Football Teams and more; Over the past 20+ years we’ve had the distinct honour of supporting a number of charities and causes the most recent of which can be found below.

poppyRemembrance Day Poppy Drives

In 2011 Urge Tattoos held the first ever Canadian Remembrance Day Poppy Drive in Support of the Canadian Armed Forces by way of the Canadian Legion. Every Remembrance Day since 2011 Urge and our outstanding artists, as well as amazing artists from a number of other great shops around Victoria, have donated their time and materials to this very worthy cause — all funds raised from the tattooing of poppies on Remembrance Day are donated to the Royal Canadian Legion. We’re distinctly proud of the hundreds of hours we’ve put in, and the thousands of dollars we’ve raised in support of our past and present service members as well as their families. Often imitated but never duplicated; ensure your donation is going to the cause. We proudly display letters of recognition from the Legion on our walls.

inkrideUrge Ink & Ride

The Urge Ink & Ride is a season-closing group motorcycle ride that brings together two-wheeled transportation enthusiasts of all stripes for a scenic tour around the capital. Culminating in the collection of donations for motorcycle-inspired flash tattoos; Artists donate their time, and Urge donates space and materials, taking up collections which have been donated to worthy causes. Our inaugural event collected thousands which were donated to the Injured Rider’s Foundation who visit and help to rehabilitate riders who have suffered injuries while riding across the province.

woundedThe Wounded Warrior Run Tattoo Drive

Urge participated in the 2013 Wounded Warrior BC Run by donating a large painting to the cause which featured a second-world war Canadian service man carring his wounded comrade to safety. This painting served as the poster and was later auctioned off in support of the cause. Urge was proud to continue our tradition of supporting Canadian Service Men & Women by organizing a armed forced inspired tattoo drive for the Wounded Warrior Run BC in 2014. We are always looking for ways to serve our community, and in particular the strong and proud warriors of our Armed Forces. Being recognized by these amazing men and women for our donation and effort was the icing on the cake.

xtremeVictoria Xtreme

Urge is proud to have sponsored the Victoria Xtreme women’s football team for another season of action across the region. “We couldn’t have gone to the Duncan Sunbowl Tournament without you, and we really appreciate your sponsorship. Our league fees are expensive, and because of your help, we can also buy new gear (pop flags, kicking tee, footballs) for our next season.”; Xtreme Rep Alyssa tells us, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to help these amazing ladies get out there and kick some ass!
